Raleigh Record Ace
Tarjolla Raleighin vuonna 1972 valmistettuun runkoon rakennettu fixi.
Runko on erittäin nätti (elämisen jälkiä ja kulumaa on!), ja se on ostettu Englannista Raleighin tehtaan vanhalta työntekijältä, mukaan löytyy rungon lyhyt historiikki.
Tässä tiedossa olevaa historiaa rungosta:
“However this is a very rare frame with some interesting history.
I worked for Raleigh Industries head office in the early 1970ís.
One of the directors was invited to take part a charity cycle ride so naturally he
wanted a suitably impressive mount to reflect his status and showcase the company.
The task was give to William Blackmore, a first rate frame maker and engineer
who ran a small department which undertook prototype and specialist work He had hidden
away in his private hidey hole this unused pre war Raleigh Record ace frame from competition stock.
The size (centre BB to top seat tube) is 22 inches.
This was the starting point and the frame was fitted with a few contemporary braze-onís,
cable guides etc and finished in metallic tangerine and built into a machine for him to use.
It was top class and box lined and a real cracker. It was subsequently used by one of colleagues
for some time and then stored unused for many years. I acquired it from him.
The paintwork is now quite poor as are the chrome fork ends.
It looks better in the photographs than in the flesh but it is 100% straight and true with no damage.
It has quite attractive lugs, continental I believe and much nicer than the later rather plain lugs.
It comes fitted with a bottom bracket (square taper) and headset.
This is a quality frame and deserves to be re painted and would make a superb,
unique classic lightweight with an interesting history.”
Fillari lähtee myyntiin koska tälle ei ole tullut kilometrejä juuri ollenkaan.
Osat on haalittu aikanaan pitkin maailmaa, enkä nyt ihan tarkkaan muista kaikkia mittoja.
Kuvista selviää paljon, ja loppuja voin koittaa selvitellä jos tarvetta.
Välitys oli muistaakseni 42/16.
Runko: Raynolds 531, ST 56cm.
Kammet: Suntour Superbe Pro.
Keskiö: Shimano 600.
Vanteet: Jotkut peruskiekot jotka maksoivat ~150e/kpl.
Nyt kiinni kiinteä ratas, mutta toiselle puolelle voi asentaa myös vapaarattaan.
Renkaat: Uudet 28mm kerman väriset Vittoriat.
