Tuli testattua viikonloppuna uutta Nice Bike huolto-startuppia, joka operoi itäisen Helsingin alueella. Toimii käytännössä niin, että aika varataan nettisivulta, jonka jälkeen sovittuna ajankohtana tavarafillari ja firmaa pyörittävä Ty saapuu tilattuun osoitteeseen ja suorittaa huollon paikan päällä. Meillä kahden pyörän huolto hoitui noin puolessatoista tunnissa samalla kun itse keskityin nauttimaan hidasta sunnuntai-aamiaista perheen kanssa. Todella huolellista jälkeä tuli, ja olipa helppoa kun ei tarvinnut roudata pyöriä mihinkään. Suosittelen! Toivon kovasti, että näin hyvä palvelu menestyisi.

As for the prices I would argue that the problem is not that mine are too low but that others are too high, certainly in the city; my prices are in line with the few shops out east. Yes I am providing the extra service of travelling to the customer but I don’t see why that should result in a cost for them, after all I have far less monthly outgoings than a shop does. The main reason for my not charging a premium is because I have no desire to provide a high priced service which only a limited number of wealthy bike enthusiasts can afford, I’d rather work on ten supermarket bikes for people who just want a cheap and cheerful way to get around than one custom built bike decked out in Chris King with diamond encrusted valve caps, I’ll happily leave the fancy jobs to someone else.
I grew up poor in a place that makes Helsinki seem like paradise so I am naturally inclined to provide a service for the many and not for the few. People who work on a checkout in S-Market need their Nexus hub to run nicely just as much as a doctor does, probably more so. I don’t have my sights set on world domination, I just need money for potatoes, bread and the odd bootleg Chinese eBay Pipsa Possu toy for my kid.
